MGC 2026 Report: Little Samson Is Go!

MGC 2026 Report: Little Samson Is Go!
A quick check-in on an upcoming LRG release.
Jeremy Parish, Media Curator
I spent this past weekend at Midwest Gaming Classic in Milwaukee—a part of my spring routine for a decade now. As is often the case at events like this (which feature tons of retrogame-focused pop-up shops), the specter of Takeru’s classic Little Samson hung over the vendor floor. For once, the Little Samson concern on my mind wasn’t, “How much are they asking for it this year?” I didn’t even spot a copy of the NES’s crown-jewel collectible on the show floor... though I did overhear a vendor mention that he had sold his store’s sole copy on Saturday morning.
No, for MGC ’26, I spent some time doing my part to help bring the game back into circulation. Which is to say, sitting down with game collectors and Little Samson fans to record their thoughts on the game and the NES collecting phenomenon at large.
A little preview of things to come:

Special thanks to Gregg Johnson (pictured here), a Milwaukee-area game shop owner who was at MGC himself to help host livestreams for the and generously agreed to share a little of his time to talk Little Samson.
We have big plans for the Carbon re-release of Little Samson, and we’ll share our progress here in the LRG blog from time to time. Please look forward to it!
