Sonic X Shadow Generations: Shadow the Hedgehog Bike Raises Money for Charity
Speed and style helps raise money for kids…
The process of the Sonic X Shadow Generations statues continues as planned, with production finishing over the next few weeks.
The timeline remains as noted a few weeks ago, we expect shipment of the statues to our distribution facilities in November and arrival of the statues in December. We will then be able to package them and begin shipping them to everyone who has been so patiently waiting.
As we wait, here is another fun and unique story from the world of the Sonic the Hedgehog, but this week we’re focusing on his biggest rival – Shadow.
We all know Shadow’s story, the dark hero who protects the Earth and everyone living here.
Well, SEGA and MotoGP rider and race car driver Sylvain Guintoli have come together to sell a one-of-a-kind motorcycle to raise money for charity.
This custom motorcycle built by SEGA called the “Dark Rider – Year of the Shadow” was created for the 2024 Fearless: Year of the Shadow campaign and used to promote the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie. This marks the first time SEGA has ever sold a piece of memorabilia, and they did so for a great cause.
Guintoli, a champion in the motorcycle and endurance racing world, has dedicated his life to not only going fast but also raising money for children’s charities and being a champion off the track. After the death of his young son Luca in 2025, Guintoli and his wife set up the Luca Guintoli Foundation, raising money for children and families dealing with childhood cancer and autism.
In April 2026, Guintoli ran the London Marathon in full motorcycle leathers, with a little help from the Blue Blur. The rider-turned-runner reached out to SEGA to ask permission to include Sonic the Hedgehog on his racing suit for the marathon.
A huge congratulations to Sylvain Guintoli on completing the London Marathon! 🏃♂️ A world record time for running in motorcycle leathers — in memory of his son, Luca to support children with cancer and their families ❤️

Not only did SEGA agree, but they also went one step further and donated the “Dark Rider – Year of the Shadow” motorcycle to be auctioned off to benefit the Luca Guintoli Foundation.
The Shadow-inspired motorcycle, which also included a custom Shadow the Hedgehog-inspired leather suit and helmet, was sold at the Bonhams Autumn Stafford auction on October 11, 2026, for a whopping £210,000 ($279,888), with all proceeds going directly to the Luca Guintoli Foundation.

This bad-to-the-bone, dark black and red motorcycle, much like its inspiration Shadow, is doing its part to protect the most vulnerable here on Earth.
