You Have the Power… to Pre-Order He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction

Greyskull candy.

He-Man is here at last! Coming to you courtesy of Limited Run Games, Bitmap Bureau, and Clear River Games (the Man-E-Faces behind this game, as it were), He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction finally has the power… the power to be available for preorder, that is.

Y’know, sometimes you look at a game based on a popular property and wonder, “How did those people think this made sense?” Dragon Pearl of Destruction is not one of those games. If ever a set of characters belonged in a belt-scrolling brawler, it’s the Masters of the Universe crew. They got their start as beefy warrior action figures—and unlike other 1980s figure lines that presented their characters in bland, neutral poses, Masters of the Universe characters had a lively, dynamic appearance. They more or less looked like they were standing in idle animations for a brawler to begin with. So why not complete the circle and make it a reality?

The artists at Bitmap Bureau have done justice to the property here. With huge, beautifully animated sprites and a color palette that perfectly captures the vibrant-yet-earthy look of the old Filmation cartoon, Dragon Pearl of Destruction looks and plays great, with simultaneous cooperative play for two characters and your pick of three iconic characters: He-Man, Man-At-Arms, and Teela. It’s downright (Trap) Jaw-dropping, really.

And you won’t have to wait an Eternia, err, eternity to play. He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction is available for pre-order right now on Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series in Standard, Classic, and Collector’s Editions, and will be available through November 22, 2026. (You can also buy it on Steam, if you’re more into the digital route.)

So, Teela your friends about it! We promise it won’t be a Stinkor! The game will be 100% less Cringer than these puns! Ummm… Skeletor!
