Runtime Podcast: Limited Run Retail LIVE

You might have heard we opened a retail store. Limited Run Retail drips with character: pink neon hues, bowling-alley carpet, and a groovy custom store soundtrack piped in from overhead. Customers visiting the Cary, North Carolina location pick up LRG releases, grab trading cards, peruse the classic carts and discs lining the used game section, and try their luck at the UFO catcher claw machine.

Opening day pulsed with enthusiasm as hundreds of fans from around the country showed up (and lined up) to be the first to shop. Special guests from WayForward signed Shantae and River City Girls memorabilia. Fans created their own custom memorabilia packs. The day felt like an old-school midnight console launch.

Today’s episode of Runtime: The Limited Run Games Podcast is all about that spectacular day. I wandered around with a portable audio recorder interviewing as many folks as possible. The sound quality is lousy, but the sheer enthusiasm of the fans and guests more than makes up for the guerilla-style presentation.
