Sonic X Shadow Generations: There's Still More Stuff in The Box
Strange things are afoot. Well, “a foot,” anyway.
Hello, Sonic fans, and welcome once again to our weekly blog. You know the routine by now: No new updates on the factory process means we keep things spicy with alternative info.
This time around, we’re looking at some of the other non-statue goodies in the Sonic X Shadow Generations Collector’s Edition. In this case, it appears to be a formless mass of plastic in a bag. Familiar colors, though!

Liberating this object from the wrapper reveals that it is in fact three objects, all linked together:

It’s feet! Well, shoes. Probably no feet inside. At least we certainly hope not.
This is, in fact, a keychain set of Sonic-themed shoes. Sonic and Shadow-themed, to be specific. Why then, you may wonder, are there three shoes for two characters? That’s where the Generations comes into play: One of these shoes belongs to Shadow, obviously, but the other belong to different iterations of Sonic (classic and modern). You can tell pretty easily which show belongs to whom from the front profile alone, as modern Sonic sports a far more pronounced buckle to secure the strap on his shoes.

From the side profile, it’s even clearer. Classic Sonic preferred a low-profile look to his footwear, making it more of a traditional boot or monkstrap shoe. Modern Sonic updates his look to the fashionable “elevated dress sneaker” look by adding a thick white sole and a bit of an upward cant to the overall design of the shoe. The sole seems like an especially good idea. Now that he’s pushing 40, Sonic needs to be mindful of proper arch support.
These are chunky, durable keychains, made a dense but slightly pliable rubber. You’ll certainly feel the weight of your keys in your pocket, but their jagged metal edges won’t damage the keychains. Sensible and stylish, just like Sonic’s fashion choices. And Shadow’s, of course. Such dapper gents.
