Limited Run’s Summer Sales Begin Now
Limited Run’s Summer Sales Begin Now
Check back on the regular for more updates, more links, and more deals.
It may be hard to believe when you look outside and see the pavement melting, but technically, summer doesn’t begin for another week and a half. It’s still spring! That little detail doesn’t seem to have stopped the folks at Sony from teaming up with Limited Run to put together a load of incredible deals and launch it today as part of their so-called PlayStation Summer Sale.
To be fair, the sale doesn’t end until July 1st, which does indeed fall after Summer Solstice, so we’ll allow it. Besides, great deals on digital purchases know no season. They’re a welcome sight all year round.
You can find the full set of Limited Run-published digital titles currently on sale for PlayStation 4 and 5 by clicking this link. And if you’d like a little info on what you can expect from each title, well, that’s what the fine art of reading on is for:
PlayStation Summer Sale 2026
June 10th - July 1st
Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore
A freewheeling action romp that may remind you of a certain other game from a long time ago, but rest assured that Arzette is 100% its own thing, and it rocks.
Earthion
Sometimes you see a video game and think, “Is this real life?” We would like to assure you that Earthion is indeed real life, and life is good. A technically stunning shoot-em-up for Sega Genesis from Ancient, the studio of acclaimed composer Yuzo Koshiro, Earthion somehow plays as good as it looks.
Fear Effect
The sophisticated 3D adventure that more or less invented the concept of cel shading, Fear Effect is more or less a French graphic novel that you can play.
Fear Effect 2
The sequel to Fear Effect amps up the action, introduces new characters, and does even more amazing things within the boundaries of the original PlayStation’s hardware.
Fighting Force Collection
The belt-scrolling brawler genre faded from sight after 16-bit consoles faded away, but this pair of PlayStation classics kept the spirit alive.
Gex Trilogy
Three games, three times the wisecracks. Gex Trilogy brings back all three of the original 32-bit adventures of the world’s snarkiest (and most media-savvy) gecko in the comprehensive compilation.
JAWS: Retro Edition
Finally, a bigger boat... and a bigger game! JAWS: Retro Edition includes both the cult classic NES game as well as a massively expanded modern remix. And a whole lot of sharks.
Nickelodeon Splat Pack
A collection of three games that have practically nothing to do with one another, besides being based on shows that aired on Nickelodeon. But if you are Of A Certain Age, the combination of (1) slime, (2) 1990s tech, and (3) GUTS/Rocko’s Modern Life/AAAHH!!! Real Monsters, you will find yourself powerless to resist the siren call of this anthology.
Ren & Stimpy: Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy Collection
Five different games (plus a whole lot of platform variants), all featuring Ren & Stimpy, all in one container. It’s like a beautiful, shiny, jolly, candy-like button that you just... can’t... resist.... PRESSING
Snow Bros. Classic Collection
A compilation of classic arcade platform shooters by the good folks at Mitchell. Some of those games are crazy rare collector’s items, which means that this collection is “snow” joke. Get it? “Snow”? Ah, we do have fun here.
Tomba! Special Edition
The modern conversion of the chaotically goofy PlayStation classic brings a real sense of zaniness (and a 3D element) to the time-tested metroidvania genre.
Tomba! 2 Special Edition
The direct sequel to Tomba! built on its concepts and mechanics by bringing its complex interlocking quest system into the actual third dimension, but it lost none of the original’s love for the bizarre.
Another Crusade
The last great Super NES RPG shipped 30 years ago this summer, but you can revive and relive those vibes with Another Crusade, the game that dares to ask: “What if all the characters were that one puppet guy?”
Corpse Killer - 25th Anniversary Edition
The original Corpse Killer brought creepy zombie combat to home consoles, but playing the game properly meant you needed to own both a Sega CD and 32X, which made for a very expensive and complicated setup! Now, you can just play it on PlayStation and enjoy the maxed-out sensation of the game on normal hardware. Ain’t technology grand?
Cosmic Star Heroine
This modern classic role-playing adventure from Zeboyd takes very obvious cues from some of the greatest 16-bit RPGs while introducing plenty of new ideas and element into the mix.
Cthulhu Saves Christmas
Do Elder Gods celebrate Christian holidays? A fun little RPG from Zeboyd with some intriguing theological ramifications.
Deathwish Enforcers
A campy action game in the tradition of ’90s brawlers and ’70s cop flicks.
Double Switch 25th Anniversary Edition
A classic FMV adventure game built in the tradition of Night Trap.
Night Trap - 20th Anniversary Edition
Speaking of which, here’s the game that inspired Double Switch. Manage an array of surveillance videos in order to capture a band of marauders and protect a group of young women caught in a dire situation.
PiCTOOi
A picture-building crossword game that tests your sense of logic and math. Mostly logic. Don’t worry—no calculus required.
Plumbers Don't Wear Ties: Definitive Edition
This bizarre interactive novella received the glow-up it truly deserved thanks to Limited Run’s conversion to modern systems.
Pet the Pup at the Party
You may be a wallflower, but introversion doesn’t make you a monster. Go forth. Pet the dogs. And avoid that tedious small talk.
Revenge of the Bird King
What does a Bird King even need revenge for? Play this manic retro platform shooter for yourself and find out.
Saturday Morning RPG
One of the games that Limited Run was built on. But don’t take our word for it, take our word for it.
Save me Mr. Tako: Definitive Edition
This is not actually a Game Boy game, but it looks and feels like it, in the best way possible. Get out there and save humanity as they cry out, “takosukete!”
The House in Fata Morgana: Dreams of the Revenant Edition
This defining graphic novel features gorgeous art and an atmospheric, gothic setting.
This Way Madness Lies
A gorgeous pixel art role-playing adventure from Zeboyd featuring a team of magical girls battling the nightmarish forces of, uhh, nightmares.
