The Lord of the Rings: War in the North™ Legacy Edition, Game on A Disc

Coming to you sometime before the next Age of Middle Earth.

The Lord of the Rings was, of course, the story of a whole lot of people fighting for control of an object. Sauron’s one Ring was truly the embodiment of “forever physical,” a nigh-indestructible token of immeasurable power. As purveyors of an immeasurable number of video games in physical form, we can understand everyone’s enthusiasm for the Ring.

(Disclaimer: As with most physical things, “nigh-indestructible” does not extend to being tossed into the primal magma of a grand volcano. Please do not place your Limited Run purchases in the fires of Mount Doom.)

So, perhaps you can understand why we were so excited to team up with our friends at Aspyr Media to bring the action-strategy hit The Lord of the Rings: War in the North™ Legacy Edition to modern platforms on physical media. War in the North is a great take on the Lord of the Rings saga that presents Sauron’s war against humans and their allies from a different perspective than the books and films, one that deserves to be recorded for the ages. Preserved, as it were. It is... precious. And we’ll be bringing it to disc and/or cartridge.

Which physical formats will that include, you may wonder? PlayStation 5? Switch 2? Xbox? Something else?! Who can say! Well, we can, but we’re not telling yet. You’ll have to wait for more details until we get the OK to share. (Our office Ent is calling the shots on this one. He may need a while to deliberate, so please stay tuned.)
